Ride Grading

Where possible club rides are graded to give an indication whether the ride will be recreational or seriously challenging. This enables members to chose which rides they wish to attend and so those attending will have the same expectations and so gain the most enjoyment out if the ride. Below are the grades we are using for the rides listed in the club newsletter.

Ride grades

1) LEISURE, easy rides, ok for beginners, plenty of stops, easy terrain and relaxed pace, perhaps based around a place of interest or a picnic.

2) RECREATIONAL, regular navigation stops, enough challenge in the terrain/distance for most club members to feel they have had some real exercise.

3) TOUR, something for those who want a longer and/or more challenging terrain, less stops. Not suitable for the slower quartile of members.

4) SPORT, for those who want fast and challenging rides.

For joint rides with other clubs, member of each club will details listed in their own club newsletter.
